“Working with a budget'' - From a Florist
If you’re a 2026 couple or a 2027 couple I am sure your social media is filled with reels and photos of how to work within a budget. But, what does it actually mean when a florist says they can “work with a budget”. Lets do an easy breakdown to see how you can make an arrangement different prices!
Mid Level Price point spring arrangement
This arrangement as is, would be in the mid level price point. The focal flowers are Tulips which are a pretty inexpensive flower when they are in season. This would be about $85-$95 dollar arrangement.
Lux option arrangement
A more Lux option would be replacing some of the tulips with peonies or garden roses, and some of the spray roses with butterfly ranunculus. This adds a more diverse grouping of florals, which will enhance the interest of the arrangement. The price of this would be $160.00.
Less expensive option
An inexpensive options would be replacing the Spray Roses with a blush Carnation, and replacing the Snowberry with white Hypericum. This takes us down to about $75 dollars an arrangement.
Floral prices vary widely based on season and location. These price breakdowns are based on my personal prices and how I charge per flower (a x3 to wholesale cost). Some florist will not use certain filler flower options, because as you can see the outcome does really change based on the different florals you are going to use. Your vase choice can also effect the price of each arrangement, a simple clear glass vase is going to be less expensive then a ceramic option.
The most important thing when talking to a florist about budget is being honest. Your florist cant help you if you don’t let them know exactly what your willing to pay. Couples will come to me with big dreams and a small budget and if they are honest and open from the beginning I can send them a proposal with lots and lots of options on how to cut back on price. But, if a couple is unwilling to tell me their budget, I am going to send them what they want to see and the sticker shock could make you second guess your whole vision without knowing there is easy fixes to bring it down!
